Festival kicked off on Saturday. Highly recommend to everyone, great fun. Lots of balloons and concerts in the evening.

Запуск шаров в 6 утра и 6 вечера, каждый день. Фестиваль идет до 19 августа, так что ещё целая неделя.
Я ездил вчера и сегодня на утренние запуски, удалось найти большую площадку откуда запускали по 20 шароф. Много комманд из Америки, некоторых я помню ещё с прошлого года. Правда сейчас мне было лень за ними по полям гоняться, так что после запуска домой поехал

Johnson & Johnson, the health-products giant that uses a red cross as its trademark, is suing the American Red Cross, demanding the charity halt its use of the red cross symbol on products it sells to the public. It seems J&J began using the trademark in 1887, 6 years after the Red Cross was formed, but 13 years before the charitable organization was chartered by Congress. Lately the ARC has begun licensing the symbol to third parties to use on fund-raising products such as home emergency kits.”

Это же просто беспредел какой-то, нет я, конечно, понимаю что нужно защищать свои торговые марки и свой бренд, но подавать в суд через 120 лет это просто глупо. Все-таки Штаты порой удивляют своими дурацкими судебными разбирательствами. У меня просто фантазии бы не хватило. Бред.

This Saturday, thanks to my mom, I finally went to see fireworks. I’ve missed 4 or 5 already. Thanks to chilly weather and rain scare there weren’t that many people there. The fireworks were really good, though they were not “camera friendly” so i didnt take that many shots. So far only 2 somewhat decent ones. Hope this Wednesday it’s gonna be better.

Я смотрю мы вышли на новый этап дележки сверхприбыльного бизнеса, пока им только можно носить пистолеты и ружья. Но я думаю не за горами время, когда дойдут и до техники с автоматическим оружием. Опять же интересно, как юридически можно оформить территорию возле газ- и нефтепроводов? Мало того, что это очень сильные и влиятельные игроки на российском рынке, так теперь у них появилась возможность вполне законно оказывать силовое влияние.

Интересно девки пляшут, напомните мне пожалуйста, чем ещё владеет Газпром?

A man climbed into the Jacques-Cartier bridge last night, our second bridge climbing this week, and the Sûreté du Québec says it’s had enough of trying to persuade such folks down, and is simply going to send its tactical squad up to get them.

Today i appeared on BBC for the second time. In a program called "Have your say". They were discussing handgun banning laws and restriction due to recent shootings in the States.
As i said this was my second time "on air". My first time was on the same program and we were discussing Dawson College shooting. So this time I was asked to give them a follow up on the story and share my opinion on the matter. To tell the truth i was surprised when i got a call from them, didn't expect them to even remember me :)
As one of my fellow-editors in the Tribune said "are you their new gun control expert, or something?" :)

MacBook

I got my MacBook today, this is the best thing that happened to me in a long time.
It's so cool and sleek. Now i just need to figure out how the whole system works and stuff.
So far i can say that it's very user friendly and the keyboard is just amazing. I mean it's so good that i'm actually having fun typing and i really dont want to stop :-)
The screen is realy good too, i love the colours.
Anyhow.

This years World Cup is full of surprises. I mean, i dont remembet that many red cards shown.
And then the playoff stage, i didnt expect lots of thing to happen.
Well at least now with Brazil out, i thikn Germans have way better chanses :)

I'm still not sure how i feel about Ukraine and England. The latter should really learn how to take penalties. Their poor performance is getting them nowhere.
